Digital Signage and Distribution
Crowds create logistical challenges for churches, and these problems are often compounded for first-time guests and families. The challenge of getting everyone to the proper location and on-time grows as crowds increase and campuses expand. Stonebriar Community Church, in Frisco, TX, recognized that their growth and expansion had limited the effectiveness of their existing information distribution system. PowerPoint and paper no longer provided sufficient means for distributing information to the congregation in a new 135,000 sq ft building.
Stonebriar Church selected Mankin Media Systems to provided an integrated digital signage solution. MMS identified three key areas for Stonebriar Church that would make their digital signage solution implementation a success. First, the system had to provide real-time information and way finding content. Second, training the administrators and building the initial content interfaces would provide a turnkey solution. Third, the content must be distributed throughout the campus, and the system needed to handle different content types.
Relaying relevant content that helps people make informed decisions is the primary reason for selecting Infocaster from Harris Corporation. This solution makes creating and displaying information easy for the church with the intuitive interface builder and the ability to handle complex data formats. As part of the turnkey solution MMS built the custom interface and setup the initial data sources. MMS then trained the Stonebriar team to use Infocaster system to create custom interfaces and pull new data sources depending on different events and weekend services.
Distributing the content to display devices was the final key to creating a complete digital signage network. MMS designed a distribution network for remote access to control players across the network and in multiple buildings. Working with the IT staff and content producers at Stonebriar, MMS deployed the Infocaster machines, Magenta distribution system and Panasonic Professional Series plasmas throughout the building.
Stonebriar Community Church is thrilled with the solution provided by MMS. Across the campus Stonebriar can now provide a live video feed, scrolling announcements, dynamic updates of weather, class information, and other details to the congregation with the ease of use of a centralized system. The congregation can find the information it needs to make decisions on crowded Sunday mornings with highly visible and accurate information.
